| Description: | The Director of Counseling Services is a mental health professional who has primary responsibility for directing a college counseling center and integrating counseling services into a comprehensive student development experience. Counseling Services at DePauw University is co-located with Health Services in the Wellness Center. The Director of Counseling Services has significant administrative and supervisory responsibilities and provides direct counseling services for students. The director closely collaborates with the Medical Director and Health Services staff in the Wellness Center. The director is a member of the Student Life Staff and works closely with University staff and faculty members.

| Duties: | Oversee the operations of Counseling Services and ensure the delivery of high quality mental health care for all students. Develop, implement and evaluate operational policies of the Wellness Center. Prepare and monitor annual budgets. Ensure the quality and security of student counseling records.
Supervise, provide ongoing support and create developmental opportunities for Counseling Services staff and front desk staff. Assure that staff members are informed and educated of ethical, legal and policy issues related to providing mental health services.
Provide direct counseling to students. Coordinate and participate in on call services.
Work closely with the Medical Director who oversees Health Services. Co-facilitate Wellness Center staff meetings with the Medical Director for the purpose of operational and clinical support.
Consult with students staff, and faculty in regards to mental health concerns, crisis intervention and matters related to wellness. Develop and maintain relationships with local mental health and medical professionals.
Provide training and presentations to students and campus community on issues related to mental health issues. Work closely with other department in Student Life and facilitate partnerships and collaboration with other University departments, staff, faculty and community agencies to ensure the provision of adequate mental health services that support student development and success.
Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach plan to promote services of the Wellness Center, provide educational programming to student groups and advance wellness goals on campus.
Closely support the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Coordinator who coordinates the University�s Alcohol Program and chairs the Alcohol and DrugTask Force.
Participate in division and university wide activities to support student success. Meet regularly with the Associate Dean of Students and attend weekly Student Life director staff meetings.
Complete other division wide duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | � Possess a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Well qualified applicants with other mental health degrees may be considered.
� Be licensed or license eligible as a mental health professional in Indiana.
� Have previous experience in a college counseling center. Experience working within an integrated counseling and health services office is preferred.
� Demonstrate a commitment to the liberal arts education.
� Demonstrate experience with and sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a diverse community.
� Have the ability to balance clinical expertise, supervision, administrative responsibilities and collaboration with Student Life and other University departments.
� Be dedicated to providing quality mental health care that utilizes a variety of theoretical orientations and techniques.
� Show commitment to providing a nurturing work environment that supports individual talents of staff.
