| Description: | The primary purposes of this position are to provide clinical services to DePauw students, to provide outreach and consultation services to the DePauw community, and to participate in the training program of Counseling Services. |
| Duties: | Provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for students within the context of empirically based treatment interventions and an ethical framework.
Maintain timely and accurate records according to ethics codes, Indiana law, and best practices models.
Conduct intakes and assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide clinical consultations for student clients.
Provide crisis/emergency services for students through assigned time slots during regular business hours and through a scheduled rotation after hours and weekends. Conduct emergency assessments and make referrals for hospitalization where needed and appropriate.
Plan, develop and implement a range of psycho-educational outreach programming to the campus community.
Participate in the clinical training program by providing supervision and continuing education for the trainees at the request of the Director.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with faculty and staff across campus, especially in those areas where frequent student referrals occur.
Participate in campus/division committees or initiatives at the request of the Director.
Other duties as assigned by or with the approval of the Director. |
| Qualifications: | Doctorate in counseling psychology, clinical psychology or related field, Licensed or license eligible in Indiana within two years of employment. If unlicensed, license must be completed during the second year of employment.
Clinical experience in a university/college counseling center. Experience must include assessing, diagnosing and treating common mental health issues and developmental concerns in a college student population. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services in a multiculturally competent framework.
Demonstrated ability to maintain timely and accurate records and in practicing in an ethical manner. Ability to manage crises and emergencies with appropriate consultation.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to relate well to students, staff and faculty on a small, liberal arts campus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in delivering high quality psycho-educational programming to a university community. Special consideration given to applicants with demonstrated expertise in outreach to ethnic minority women and/or international women students.
Experience in one or more of the following clinical areas: eating disorders, group psychotherapy, and/or minority/international/LGBTQ student adjustment to university life.
Strong desire to work in a residential, selective, liberal arts university in a small Midwestern town.
Demonstrated ability to provide quality training and supervision to masters or doctoral level practicum trainees.
