DePauw University invites applications and nominations for the position of Head Football Coach, a full-time, 12-month coaching position reporting to the Theodore Katula Director of Athletics & Recreational Sports. The Head Football Coach is responsible for implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III football program. This includes recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, scouting, coaching, scheduling, budgeting and planning team travel, all in compliance with University, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The Head Football Coach also provides leadership in the personal, academic and athletic development of student-athletes and will work with the Theodore Katula Director of Athletics & Recreational Sports to support the overall mission and vision of DePauw University.
DePauw University is located in Greencastle, Indiana and is a member of the NCAA Division III and the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). The NCAC includes: Allegheny College, Denison University, DePauw University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University and the College of Wooster.
DePauw University, originally Indiana Asbury University, was founded in 1837 by the Methodist Church. The University has a diverse enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. Greencastle, a town of just over 10,000 residents, is located near Interstate 70 between Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
DePauw�s Board of Trustees has just approved a comprehensive athletics and recreation facilities master plan, which calls for a series of phased improvements to the entire athletics and recreation complex, including the football facility.

| Duties: | Understand and comply with NCAA Division III, Conference and University rules and regulation.
Demonstrate a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes.
Demonstrate sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a diverse community.
Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting plan for the identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
Develop and implement plans and strategies for practices and competition.
Schedule games and make all arrangements for team travel.
Plan and manage the football operating budget.
Supervise assistant coaches.
Evaluate the program and its participants.
Monitor student-athletes� academic progression.
Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.
Ability to lead and influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Theodore Katula Director of Athletics & Recreational Sports.

| Qualifications: | Bachelor�s degree required; Master�s degree in related field preferred.
Three to seven years related experience.
Understanding of and commitment to a liberal arts education, NCAA Division III athletics and to the student-athlete experience.
Capacity and commitment to be an engaging ambassador and advocate for the University and the football program.
Preference will be given to the candidate who has playing and/or coaching experience at the intercollegiate level in football and who can demonstrate a proven ability to recruit quality student-athletes who fit the academic profile of the student body.
Strong communication skills.
Computer skills.
Desire to work in a rural, small, selective institution environment devoted to providing liberal arts education, building community and helping students prepare for their future careers.
