Mail Center Assistant (two positiions - temporary - approximately 6 months)

|Description:||Responsible for the processing and delivery of all inbound and outbound campus mail and provision of customer service in the mail center and on campus. |
Metering of the mail
Receiving and scanning parcels/packages into the Tracking System that electronically notifies students of the delivery
Assisting customers with fax services, purchase of stamps
Loading student mailboxes
Assembling the mailing
Talking with vendors
Printing of envelopes
Picking up mail at the US Post Office, sorting mail for delivery and delivering mail on campus
Maintaining mail vehicle
Responding to a job request from an office and helping with their mailing needs
Working with offices to obtain what they need for a planned mailing project
Paying Federal Express bills and other office bills on a timely basis
Ordering supplies for the office machines and supplies for mailing
The ability to periodically supervise and instruct student workers employed in the Mail Center on the handling and processing of mailings, both inbound and outbound.
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience with USPS rules and regulations. Minimum six months to one year prior experience in a mailroom setting preferred.
Computer proficiencies and associated skill set. Knowledge of various postal software programs and operational software programs
Valid US drivers license required.
