| Description: | DePauw University, consistently ranked in the nation�s top 50 liberal arts colleges, seeks an exceptional Director/Associate Director of Music Admission with creativity, energy and an entrepreneurial spirit. The Director/Associate Director will be an effective advocate and ambassador for the School of Music where excellence in undergraduate musical training, intellectual and creative engagement, and a supportive environment are core values.
The Director/Associate Director of Music Admission will join an ambitious music administration in strengthening the School�s musical life. In partnership with the Dean, leadership from the Office of Admission, and School of Music faculty, the Director/Associate Director will develop a long range plan that will frame the recruiting priorities of the School, increase market awareness and viability, recruit from an ever-expanding pool of great secondary music schools and consistently enroll a balanced class of 45-55 outstanding musicians. The Director will design mutually beneficial connections to strong public and private secondary schools across the country and around the globe. |
| Duties: |
Develop a long term recruiting plan for the School that will increase the reach and reputation of the School of Music, and enhance the School�s ability to enroll leading students from around the nation and the world.
Work cooperatively with Office of Admission to develop strategies to increase the applicant pool for both instrumentalists and vocalists, effectively recruit and yield top musicians.
Work closely with the faculty to identify the strategies and tactics to reach the School�s recruitment goals.
Develop methods of recruiting serious musicians from the college of liberal arts that are excellent performers in ensembles and productions in the School of Music.
Develop and support an advertising strategy to attract the best students. This will include overseeing the ad campaign, website, arts fairs, ensemble tours and school visitation schedules that will promote the School of Music.

| Qualifications: |
A collegiate background in music, a Baccalaureate degree, a proven track-record in undergraduate music admission and an appreciation for the challenges of music student recruitment.
Master�s degree in music or arts administration preferred.
Demonstrated success in developing recruitment strategies.
The successful candidate must be a team player, possess strong oral and written communication skills, be able to work long hours, and be committed to the value of a musical training in a liberal arts setting.
Breadth of musical experience, coupled with an understanding of the importance of an arts education in the 21st century. Experience with current educational trends and new models.
A strong record of successful program planning experience, computer competency and familiarity with database management, and possession of a valid driver�s license are required.
Genuine interest in people; a relationship-builder who is engaged, extroverted and a thoughtful communicator.
Good listener with a respectful, consultative and accessible style � able to relate easily to a wide range of college constituents, including prospective students and their parents, students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Energy, integrity and a sense of humor.
