| Description: | DePauw is searching for an energetic Head Softball Coach who will implement and direct all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III Softball program. The successful coach will passionately lead the personal, academic and athletic development of our student-athletes through recruiting, scouting, training, scheduling, budgeting while staying compliant with all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. |
| Duties: | Understand and comply with NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
Demonstrate a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes
Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and community
Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
Develop and implement plans and strategies for practices and competition
Schedule games, make transportation and lodging arrangements for team travel
Plan and manage the Softball operating budget
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Softball program
Monitor student-athletes' academic progress
Provide effective leadership, building consensus toward a goal
Demonstrate an ability to effectively train, coach, and lead student athletes |
| Qualifications: | Bachelor's degree required, with Master's Degree preferred
At least 3 years of experience
Effective level of computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Google Apps
Excellent communications skills
Commitment to and history of strong belief in mentoring students and experience working with young adults.
Desire to work in a rural, small-school environment devoted to providing liberal arts education, building community, and helping students prepare for their future careers |
